Oysters on the Half Shell

Market price

A rotating selection: Long Island bays when they are at their best, Cape Cod and Wellfleet in season, and occasionally something from further afield. Lemon, mignonette and house cocktail sauce on every plate.

The list changes with what is running. Ask the team what is briny, what is sweet, and what to start with.

At the bar

No booking required.

The bar and the bar-top tables are walk-in, so a dozen on the way past needs no plan. The room opens at half past eleven and the bar runs from there into the evening.

Good to know

Oysters, answered.

Does The Audrey have oysters?

Yes. The raw bar runs a rotating selection of oysters, with lemon, mignonette and house cocktail sauce on every plate. The list changes with what is running, so ask the team what is good that day.

When can I get oysters?

The room opens at half past eleven every day and the bar runs from there into the evening, so you can sit down for a dozen through the afternoon and on into the night.

Do I need a reservation for oysters at the bar?

No. The bar and the bar-top tables are walk-in, so you can pull up for oysters without booking. For a table in the dining room, especially on a Friday or Saturday, reserve ahead.

What should I drink with them?

A glass of Champagne or a cold Muscadet, both of which are on the wine list, and the bar builds cocktails to order besides. Ask whoever is behind the bar: they know what is working with the oysters that day.

Where do the oysters come from?

The list rotates by season: Long Island bays when they are at their best, Cape Cod and Wellfleet in season, and occasionally something from further afield.

How much are they?

Market price, because the selection changes. The team will tell you the price that day when they walk you through what is on ice.

Pull up. Pick a dozen.
